Offering Bowls

Traditionally seven offering bowl are arranged on the shrine and filled with the seven different offering articles to represent: 1) Drinking water, 2) Bathing water,
3) Flowers, 4) Incense, 5) Perfumed water, 6) Food, and 7) Music.

In addition, a butter lamp – the light offering – is placed between the fourth and fifth offering bowl, to represent the offering of clarity, which dispels the darkness of ignorance.
